Mother of the Bride Tips | What to Think About When Choosing the Right Outfit

2nd Guest Interview Bellisimo Occasion Wear - Styling Tips for Mother of Bride for Every Season

As a Mother of the Bride or Groom, you want to take the stress out of what to wear for a wedding or special occasion. In the second of my two-part series interviewing Caroline Kensole from Bellissimo Occasion Wear, a specialist shop for wedding attire in Somerset, this time I delved into Caroline’s advice on

what mothers of the bride or groom should think about for every season
as a key member of the wedding party, what colour they should avoid wearing
how to repurpose the mother of the bride’s dress

I met Caroline during a wedding fair during the summer in Somerset where she was displaying some of her key dresses.    I was interested to learn more about how she supports key members of the wedding party on choosing their outfits, so hope you enjoy reading this final part of my interview:-

Caroline in the first part of our interview, you told me you cater for mothers of the brides and grooms, and the wedding guests.   Who else would find you appealing?

The importance of clothing reaches out to everybody and every occasion.

I’m a transgender friendly business, so happily discuss ideas for clothing whether for dinner parties, wedding or days out.    Its great that I offer appointments to my boutique so everyone can feel comfortable trying on outfits.

That's great service, and allows every customer to express themselves through your quality outfits

Beach wedding locations are becoming popular these days.  Caroline, whats the ideal attire for a beach wedding for the mother of the bride?

A lightweight dress or outfit that packs well without creasing too much.

Whats your tip on how can a mother of the bride get more use from her dress?

We pride ourselves in Mother of the bride and groom wedding outfits along with guests but some of our occasion wear could also be worn for race days, afternoon tea with royalty, cruise holidays, and for special birthday parties.

Wow – it sounds like you get value for money out of the outfit then.  Nowadays its key for us to be mindful about sustainability, so getting more use out of these key statement outfits is good idea, plus who doesn’t love feeling special in an outfit?!

As we are moving into autumn and the colder weather, what do you recommend wearing for a winter wedding?

The advantage that most weddings and receptions take place now in one venue, many outfits can be used for all seasons.  The classic colours of navy, silver grey, taupe and champagne that would all fit the purpose.

Should a wedding guest wear black?

I personally would not encourage a guest to wear just black to a wedding however white and black is very classy.

Is your bridal shop open like the high street?

We like to offer exclusive time for our customers which is why we run by appointment only.

Caroline please tell me, what makes you unique as a Somerset ?

We pride ourselves in offering a 121 personal friendly service, that is stress free with some retail fun along the way. We are very relaxed, and you can take as much time as you need. It is important to be happy with

How can customers find you to buy their mother of the bride dress or occasion wear outfit?
